Software takeover and development

Your system needs a new team. We take it on step by step.

Is your supplier leaving, development stalling or an important application dependent on one person? We learn how the system works in your business, scope a paid assessment and propose the first responsibility we can take on.

We start with a conversation. The scope and price of a paid assessment are agreed separately.

  1. Understand the system and operations

A paid assessment of one clearly defined area.

  2. Take on the first responsibility

An agreed change or stabilisation task.

  3. Continue improving the system

Ongoing care based on actual business needs.

The system must keep running. Even when the team changes.

  • Your supplier is leaving. The system must keep running.

An important part of your operation depends on an application. Its knowledge, access and responsibilities need to move to a new team.

  • Every change gets harder.

Requests are piling up, development is slowing down and the next priority is unclear. You need a plan grounded in how the business actually works.

  • One person holds all the knowledge.

There’s no clear picture of how the system works or what it depends on. You want a team that understands it and can keep developing it.

The application matters. Someone needs to take responsibility for it.

We help companies with a system people already use that needs dependable care and development. We start with one defined area, rather than promising to take over everything before understanding the technology, people and access involved.

Discuss whether a takeover is possible

An assessment you can base a decision on.

We define one system and an important process it supports. With your people, we establish what must keep working and what information is available. We agree the scope, price and timing before starting.

A map of the system in useWho uses it, which processes depend on it and which connections to other systems must be preserved.
Condition and key risksA review of code, access, deployment and documentation within the agreed scope. What blocks a handover and what can wait.
Priorities for the next stepsWhat to stabilise, preserve and develop. We explain the reasoning and uncertainties behind important decisions.
A plan for handover and collaborationA proposed first change, the information needed and a division of responsibilities. A basis for deciding how to proceed.

The findings are yours to keep. You can use them with us, your own team or another supplier. Takeover, changes and ongoing care are agreed separately. Your data is always yours; source code and IP are yours exclusively once paid.

Keep what works. Take responsibility for what we understand.

Is our system suitable for a takeover?

We’ll discuss its role in your business, its technology, the available information and the current team. Based on that, we’ll explain whether we can help and how to define the first piece of work.

Do we need to rewrite the system?

The assessment will help answer that. We start with what already works. The proposal may involve targeted fixes, changes to a specific part or gradual modernisation.

Do we need complete documentation?

A description of the situation is enough for the first conversation. Before paid work begins, we’ll agree on the information and access needed. Anything missing will be reflected in the scope and approach.

Does the assessment commit us to further development?

The assessment is a standalone engagement with agreed deliverables. Takeover, changes and ongoing care are agreed separately.

Who will look after your system next?

A few sentences are enough. You don’t need a written brief. Tell us what the system does and why you’re looking for a new team.

What happens next

Someone from Moravio will get in touch to arrange an introductory conversation. We’ll discuss the situation, who it affects and what you already have. Together, we’ll establish whether we can help and what a useful first step would be.

The introductory conversation helps us understand your situation. A paid assessment is a separate engagement: we’ll agree its scope, price and timing in advance.
