Leoš Janáček Airport Ostrava, formerly known as Ostrava-Mošnov, has operated since 1959 and serves as a key gateway to northern Moravia and Czech Silesia. It has a 3,500 meter concrete runway and modern facilities for passenger and cargo traffic. In 2024 it handled about 493,000 passengers, a 44 percent increase from the previous year, and 22,500 tons of cargo, up by 59 percent. Located at the crossroads of road, rail and air routes, the airport also features a Free Zone and logistics infrastructure that support regional growth. Each year it hosts NATO Days, the largest air show in Central Europe.
